Active worldwide
For several years now, Karlsruhe Zoo has steadily been developing into a modern centre for species conservation. We are active across the globe: Whether elephant orphans in Sri Lanka, rare plumploris in Bangladesh or rainforest biotopes in Ecuador: We are committed to preserving biodiversity and species diversity around the globe. To this end, we established the Karlsruhe Zoo Species Protection Foundation in 2016.
We are also active on our own doorstep: Directly in Baden-Württemberg, we are dedicated to various projects for curlews, lapwings, hoopoes and fritillaries. We have already bred numerous animal species and released them into the wild in a controlled manner, all with the goal of preserving the natural populations.
