Gastronomy and zoo shop

The Karlsruhe Zoological Garden offers a wide range of culinary delights. Right next to seals, alpacas or the birds in the exotic animal house, a wide variety of offers awaits hungry guests. From classic French fries, to ice cream, and from crêpes to homemade pasta, there is a meal to suit every taste.

Das Exo-Restaurant ist von Montag bis Sonntag von 10:00 bis 17:00 geöffnet.

The team from Marché Deutschland provides zoo guests at Exo with fresh and regional cuisine. Vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as homemade pasta are also on offer. In addition to the usual drinks, freshly squeezed juices are also available. The restaurant in the Exotenhaus is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer season, and even from 9 a.m. at weekends with a breakfast buffet.

Right next to the petting zoo is La Crêperia – a snack booth offering French specialities. The gastronomic offer provides sweet and savoury crêpe creations, as well as various coffee specialities, which our guests can enjoy with a magnificent view over the Stadtgartensee.

You can find delicious snacks at the food trucks located at various spots throughout the zoo. With bratwurst, red sausage, and Vienna sausages, along with fries and drinks, you can quickly satisfy your hunger here.

Vor dem Waffelgarten ist eine große bestuhlte Terrasse.

At the Waffle Garden, guests can enjoy freshly baked bubble waffles, creamy soft-serve ice cream, and creative toppings. The sweet snacks and specialty coffees are perfect for takeout or for relaxing on the cozy terrace. The Waffelgarten is located on the path between the children’s playground and the elephant house and is open Monday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the summer season.

Since July 2023, the Karlsruhe Zoo has also had its own zoo shop. For this we were able to win over the company WildRepublic. In the new zoo shop, our zoo guests can discover and purchase cuddly toys, shirts and many other souvenirs.
